This type of building means you will be happier with your home longer because it isn't just a house you bought its the house that was in your mind. This type of home is still more expensive than buying a used home and is more suited for home buyers that are planning on sticking to this home for over 10 years. This type of home is as energy efficient as you want and every room is tailor to your needs. Be prepared to spend a lot of time with the designer if you go this route as they will need you to tell them every detail about what you want.
In conclusion, there are many factors that come into play when buying a home but we settle all to often because of money and time constraints. I urge you to take your time and really think about the purchase. If you aren't going to stay in one spot for more than 5 - 10 years go ahead a find a used home that you can deal with.
